Aaron Lipp is an Orange County based director and actor who received his BFA in Theater Performance from Chapman University. He has worked primarily as an assistant director but recently made his first step in to directing with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at AML Theatricals. As an AD he has worked on several productions with a multitude of directors including: Tick, Tick… Boom! dir. H. Adam Harris, Once and Scrooge dir. James Michael McHale, Jagged Little Pill dir. Matthew McCray (Chance Theater); and I Love My Wife dir. Joe Lauderdale (No Square Theater).
As an actor, Aaron has received several awards including Chapman University’s Outstanding Performances, OCTG’s Outstanding Lead Performance in a Play, StageSceneLA’s Breakout Lead Performance in a Play, received a nomination for Best Young Actor at the Orange Curtain Review awards, and was named one of Orange County’s 125 Most Influential People of 2023. All awards were in recognition of his performance as Christopher Boone in two productions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. Other acting credits include: Patrick in Peace Be With You (Wayward Artist), Ensemble in Legally Blonde (No Square Theater), Seamus O’Mally in The Love Bite (Palm Springs Reading), Murray Steinberg in It Shoulda Been You, and McDoon in The Trail to Oregon (Chapman University).
In the rare times he is not at the theater, mindlessly singing show-tunes, or reading a new script, Aaron can be found in the living room of his apartment, building lego, playing guitar, or listening to the internet’s nerdiest podcasts (often at the same time, somehow). Though, don’t be surprised if you call him and he’s halfway through a drive to Sacramento just to see a production of Spring Awakening.
